Embracing Heritage with Modern Elegance
Nestled within the timeless charm of a 124-year-old home, we have seamlessly blended the rich history of this venerable residence with the contemporary needs of our clients. Our approach honors the home's storied past while infusing it with modern sophistication, creating a harmonious balance between historic character and modern comfort.
Floor Plan Breakdown
After 125 years of renovations, the home had been left with an awkward layout. The first issue was the original bathroom, which took up too much of the small footprint. The second was the wall separating the living room from the kitchen. Once both were demolished, we could begin work on a new layout.
The new plan gave us a pantry that houses the refrigerator and laundry. With the wall gone, we had room to expand the kitchen and add a dining island.
The materials are warm and restore the character that had been stripped away over the years. The natural marble and unlacquered brass will age as the family uses the space. Every detail was considered to honor the period of the architecture.
