Pink Wine Bar
When the space of the wine bar began to take shape, the idea of the scene with the boat in Wes Anderson’s movie “Life Aquatic” really took hold. The long front elevation gives the public a glimpse into every space that makes up the wine bar. The user can see into the “haul” or kitchen, the main seating area, and into the bar. This leaves nothing left to the imagination. This primary design driver was implemented throughout the project from the wine wall where every single bottle of wine is on display to the record players that are mounted to the back wall of the bar. Everything is on display which makes it easy to understand from the users perspective.

The space had a long, narrow corridor feel, which we countered by delineating zones within it. The kitchen is hidden from diners inside the restaurant, but from the street you can see the whole team at work. The bar sits back from the front facade and has an energy of its own, inviting guests to settle in with a glass of wine while music plays in the background.
In a small space, every detail and every inch had to be considered. That shows in the lighting integrated into the bar top and in the arches that frame the banquette seating. We took the time to create a room where people can relax and settle into the atmosphere.
